At the Chow Center for Facial Plastic Surgery, we also offer the gentle and effective Glycolic Facial Peel. This treatment is used to exfoliate the skin. Containing a medical grade 70% glycolic compound, the facial peel process triggers the production of new collagen and elastin, which reduces fine lines and wrinkles, evens skin tone, and improves skin texture.

The Vivite Glycolic Facial peel is a very gentle peel and does not require extensive preparation. Most patients are advised not to use retinoid based products one or two days prior to the peel as it may make cause excessive dryness and peeling. The entire procedure takes about 20-30 minutes. Patients should expect skin tightness and occasionally some redness right after the peel. The redness usually subsides within hours after the peel.

In the days after the glycolic treatment, you should expect clearer skin and tightened pores. A series of 5 or 6 treatments is recommended (each 2 weeks apart) in order to achieve ideal results.
