Have You Heard About the Endoscopic Forehead Lift?
As we age, we tend to develop frown lines, smile lines, folds, and wrinkles on the forehead. These can develop from gravity, stress, sun exposure, and other environmental factors. As a result, the brow can make you look much older than you are and affect the way you feel about yourself.
In the past, people who weren’t happy with their aged appearance chose to undergo a traditional brow lift procedure to help improve their looks, but the procedure required large incisions that discouraged many from surgery. Fortunately, advancements in brow lift surgery over the years have given birth to an innovative technique known as the endoscopic forehead lift.
The endoscopic forehead lift is a less invasive way of performing a standard brow lift procedure. The procedure is performed with telescopic cameras and minimally invasive techniques. A forehead lift will help to lift and tighten loose and sagging skin on the forehead, above the eyebrows and eyelids, and below the eyelids.
Why Should You Choose an Endoscopic Brow Lift?
Every time we raise our eyebrows there are at least four or five lines that form on our foreheads that can make us look much older than we actually are. These lines also contribute to making us look stressed, angry and irritable.
These signs of aging impact your appearance and affect the way others view you. If you would like to improve your appearance and that first impression you make, then this procedure is the perfect option for you.
By visiting an experienced facial plastic surgeon who can provide an endoscopic forehead lift, you can eliminate all those lines, wrinkles, and folds that appear on your face. If needed, the procedure can also reposition the brow line on your forehead for a more youthful look.
How Does an Endoscopic Brow Lift Differ from A Traditional Brow Lift?
The main difference between an endoscopic brow lift procedure and a traditional brow lift procedure is that during an endoscopic lift, your surgeon uses telescopic cameras to get a better view of what’s underneath the forehead and brow line. This allows for much smaller incisions, rather than one long one, leading to faster recovery after surgery.
The camera is placed within a special telescope, called an endoscope. It will give your surgeon a good view of how much skin, tissue, and fat has to be removed from underneath the forehead. The camera also has a magnifier that enlarges the images captured on a big television screen.
The Procedure
To begin, your surgeon will make incisions along the scalp line. He will then insert the telescopic camera into the scalp through the incisions to capture a few images. The images will be projected on a larger screen to give your surgeon the visibility he needs to perform the procedure.
Once that is completed, your surgeon will lift the forehead flap and begin to remove any excess muscle or tissue needed to improve the appearance of your forehead and brow. He will tighten the underlying muscles and reposition the eyebrows if needed. Once the remaining skin is tightened, he will close the incisions with sutures.
